Let’s examine, Who is the helper John 16:7-15 talks about? Is it Muhammed? or is it the Holy Spirit?
Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you;
John 16:7-15
but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin,
because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth;
for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me,
for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.
In this verse is not explicit on who the helper is. or is it? We need to then read on the previous chapters to get a better idea.
And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
John 14:16-17
In this verse the Helper is not mentioned by name but,
Jesus said he is unknown by the world.
Who qualifies by this characteristic? Both
- Muhammed
- The Holy Spirit.
Jesus also said that the disciples do know Him,
this then disqualifies Muhammed since none of the disciples knew him, but they knew who the Holy Spirit was. Jesus also said “He dwells with you and will be in you.”
How is Muhammed supposed to dwell in you? The Holy Spirit being a Spirit is able to dwell in people.
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
John 14:26
In this verse the Helper is identified, and he is the Holy Spirit, sorry Muhammed, not you.
Muslims will try to convince you that the Holy Spirit was already dwelling with mankind
and they will use:
- Luke 1:14-15 where John the Baptist was filled with the Holy Spirit in his mother’s womb,
- Matthew 3:16 where Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit when He was baptized in water by John.
The Holy Spirit will fill certain people with his presence like certain judges, warriors,
and prophets in a way that gave them extraordinary power: for example:,
- Joshua,
- Othniel
- Gideon
- Samson.
This means that The Holy Spirit never stayed with humanity.
Which brings me to my last point in Jesus said that the Helper will be with us
FOREVER
John 14:15-18
Who then qualifies here? Muhammed died and the Holy Spirit
being God will never die. In conclusion:
The Holy Spirit.
Is The Helper
